Fourteenth Rector Kathy Giles opened the 171st academic year with remarks about creativity being a byproduct of preparation — that preparation “is more about process than product, and in seeking to fulfill our potential as we learn and grow throughout our lives, we will and do indeed reach the point at which we can get creative, respond to new opportunities, and ask new questions.”
